Job description

Forms+Surfaces is a leading designer and manufacturer of architectural products used in public spaces around the world. From innovative surfaces, walls, and elevator interiors to litter and recycling receptacles, site furniture, and doors, our products invite creativity and provide real-world solutions to the challenges our customers face every day.
As a Team Lead you will help coordinate the daily work of team members in a specified department or product line. You will support daily productivity goals while continuing to perform your assigned manufacturing job duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Training & mentoring of employees, including employee orientation, safety and on the job training as needed.
  • Support the execution of production schedules by coordinating vacation schedule coverage, distribution of workloads for timely completion and delivery of jobs, in coordination with management.
  • Promote quality standards and escalate quality concerns to management as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate shift performance to leadership.
  • Ability to communicate with team members, manufacturing managers and other group leaders effectively to alleviate production and manufacturing issues.
  • Evaluate released work orders for drawing changes and recommend modifications to traveler routing, manufacturing processes, and estimated completion times.
  • Involvement in the safety program, including assistance in hazard identifications, tool box talks, daily inspection of areas, safety committee or teams participation, and promoting safety awareness and behavior to team members.
  • Partake in existing and new product reviews to develop implementation plans, process improvements and manufacturing techniques.
  • Communication to team members regarding new company information, changes, updates and other related material.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to support, train, and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify production challenges, develop practical solutions, and recommend timely solutions to support safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Organized with strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Must be available at short notice to stay later than 8hr shift and work a Sat or Sun on short notice
  • This is an hourly, non-exempt working lead position
