Lead Automotive Diagnostics Technician (Multi-Brand)
Provo, Utah | Locally owned and operated for 30+ years
Step into a spotless, well-equipped bay where your expertise sets the pace for the team. As a cornerstone technician in our respected shop, you’ll tackle complex drivability puzzles, mentor rising techs, and help us deliver the integrity-driven service our Provo community counts on.
A Day in the Life
You start by reviewing repair orders and prioritizing diagnostics. A no-start with intermittent faults hits your lift—scanning with advanced tools, referencing Alldata and Mitchell OnDemand, tracing wiring diagrams, and validating with a DVOM and oscilloscope. You collaborate with a service advisor to explain findings, complete the repair, then road-test to confirm. In the afternoon, you coach a junior technician through a brake pulsation concern, quality-check their work, and document everything thoroughly. Your bay stays organized, safe, and inspection-ready.
What You’ll Tackle
- End-to-end diagnostics and advanced repairs across engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and HVAC.
- Use of modern scan tools and software (Alldata, Mitchell OnDemand) to identify root causes—quickly and accurately.
- Clear communication with service advisors and customers about issues, required work, and preventative maintenance.
- Mentorship and technical leadership for junior technicians to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Post-repair road tests, inspections, and documentation for rock-solid quality control.
