Job description

Position Overview:

This is not a remote position. Helms College is seeking a dedicated  Basic Medical Assisting Adjunct Faculty to deliver high-quality instruction to students preparing for careers in the healthcare field. Typical work hours fall between 8:30am -3:00pm for our Day Courses and/or 5:30 PM and 10:30 PM two evenings per week for our Evening Classes

The ideal candidate will be passionate about student success and bring both clinical expertise and real-world experience from a medical setting. This role plays a key part in preparing students for industry certification, job readiness, and ethical service in healthcare environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•             Deliver engaging instruction in accordance with the approved MSMA curriculum

•             Maintain classroom and clinical lab environments that promote hands-on learning

•             Provide regular feedback, guidance, and support to students

•             Participate in campus events such as open houses, graduation, and student enrichment activities

•             Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records

•             Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to Helms College’s mission

•             Ensure compliance with institutional, accreditation, and industry standards

•             Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student retention and completion

Required Qualifications:

•             Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, having earned a certificate, diploma, or degree

•             Three (3) years of recent experience in a medical facility

•             Must be certified or registered (CMA, RMA, LPN, RN, or CCMA), or able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire

•             Availability to work Morning (8:30 - 3:00pm) for our Morning Classes and/or afternoon/evening hours (5:00 PM – 10:30 PM) for our Evening Classes  two to three nights per week.

•             Strong communication skills and a sincere passion for helping students achieve their goals

Preferred Qualifications:

•             Associate’s degree or higher in a healthcare-related field

•             Experience working in a medical office setting (e.g., front desk, clinical support, patient coordination)
