What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Helm (Maritime Officer), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Helm (Maritime Officer), you need strong navigational skills, knowledge of maritime regulations, and relevant certification such as an STCW license. Proficiency with navigation systems, radar, GPS, and ship steering mechanisms is essential. Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and communication skills help manage ship operations and coordinate with crew. These abilities are critical for ensuring vessel safety, compliance, and smooth navigation at sea.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals using Helm in a DevOps environment?

Professionals working with Helm in a DevOps setting often encounter challenges such as managing complex chart dependencies, maintaining consistent configuration across multiple environments, and troubleshooting deployment issues. Ensuring that Helm charts are version-controlled and reusable while keeping up with updates in Kubernetes can also be demanding. Collaboration with development and operations teams is essential, as seamless communication helps address these challenges and ensures successful application deployments.

What are Helm charts?

Helm charts are packages of pre-configured Kubernetes resources that help you define, install, and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters. They simplify application deployment by allowing users to deploy complex applications using a single command, handling dependencies, configurations, and upgrades easily. Helm charts consist of a set of YAML files that describe the resources needed for the application, making it easier to version, customize, and share applications across environments.

What is the difference between Helm vs DevOps Engineer?

AspectHelm
Primary RolePackage manager for Kubernetes, used to deploy and manage applications
CertificationsNone specific, but familiarity with Kubernetes and DevOps tools is common
Work EnvironmentDevOps teams, cloud environments, Kubernetes clusters
Industry UsageDevOps, cloud computing, container orchestration

Helm is a tool used within DevOps teams to simplify Kubernetes application deployment. In contrast, a DevOps Engineer oversees the entire development and operations lifecycle, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management. While Helm focuses on package management for Kubernetes, DevOps Engineers handle broader responsibilities across the software development lifecycle.

Join The Helm ABA – Make a Real Impact

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Allen, Texas

Who We Are
At The Helm ABA, we're passionate about making meaningful change. We provide high-quality, compassionate ABA therapy that helps children with autism grow, communicate, and thrive. Our team is built on real impact, real support, and real growth—for both the families we serve and the people who work here.

What You'll Do
As an RBT at The Helm ABA, you'll work hands-on with children using evidence-based ABA techniques to build essential skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and support long-term progress. You'll be supported by a collaborative, mentorship-focused team that truly values learning and professional development.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children following individualized treatment plans created by BCBAs
  • Collect and track data to monitor progress and guide treatment decisions
  • Partner with families by coaching them on reinforcing positive behaviors at home
  • Collaborate closely with a supportive clinical team to ensure consistency and success
  • Maintain accurate, organized documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Participate in ongoing training and career development opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children (education, childcare, coaching, or similar roles)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Patience, professionalism, and confidence in managing challenging behaviors
  • Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (no nights or weekends)

Why The Helm ABA?

  • Guaranteed full-time hours (30+ per week)
  • Paid RBT training and certification reimbursement
  • Twice-yearly performance-based raises
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance + 401(k)
  • A supportive workplace that truly invests in you through mentorship, training, and teamwork

If you're looking for a career, not just a job, and want to be part of something meaningful, apply today. The kids we serve are awesome. The work we do matters. Let's make a difference together.

Don't meet every single requirement? Apply anyway. We value potential, purpose, and personality just as much as experience.

Let's navigate this journey together. 💙
