Job description

Title: Warehouse Clerk
Location: Brookshire, TX
Job Description
This position assists with receiving, storage, tracking, distribution, and expediting materials, spares, etc., for the Helix business units. The position is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with crane/forklift/rigging operations in the Brookshire Warehouse and yard. This position is also responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with maintaining an organized and safe Warehouse, ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as defined by Helix.
  • Attend morning safety meetings in the shop.
  • Packaging and dispatch of equipment to offshore locations.
  • Shipment and receipt of goods sent out for repair.
  • Tracking and follow-up of goods shipped to offshore locations and vendors.
  • Filing of packing lists, Bills of Lading, and Cargo Manifests.
  • Advising Warehouse Supervisor of maintenance requirements for equipment and goods held in the warehouse and yard.
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor with arranging any materials handling services required.
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor with crane/forklift/rigging operations.
  • Maintain an inventory of items held in the warehouse and yard space.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Receive deliveries; ensure items are received in good condition; process documentation; report discrepancies; stage/store deliveries at warehouse.
  • Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.

Qualifications
Education / Training: High School Diploma required.
Experience: Two (2) or more years' experience in shipping and handling goods and services.
Skills: Shall be certified in forklift, bridge crane, hazardous materials, and rigging.
Special Requirements:
  • Shall have good organizational skills.
  • Shall possess a positive attitude and promote Helix's safety culture.
  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds, outside and in warehouse environment.
  • Good computer literacy with the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate consistently good safety and housekeeping practices, good safety record.
  • Looks for improvements, regularly makes suggestions, and consistently offers new ideas, methods or concepts.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong leadership skills.
