Job Description

This contract role offers the opportunity to perform complex avionics installation, modification, and troubleshooting on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 helicopters in support of new helicopter completions and retrofit programs. You will work in a modern, climate-controlled facility, focusing on heavy modification and installation of avionics systems and harnesses on a variety of rotary-wing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, modification, and troubleshooting of avionics systems on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 aircraft in support of new helicopter completions and retrofit programs.
  • Carry out heavy avionics modifications and installations, including routing, terminating, and securing wiring and harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Install and integrate avionics components, equipment, and systems, ensuring proper configuration, operation, and compatibility with existing aircraft systems.
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical data, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and modification instructions to perform accurate avionics work.
  • Verify proper operation of installed and modified avionics systems through functional checks, troubleshooting, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments in a hangar/completion center environment to support on-time completion of new build and retrofit aircraft.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable standards, procedures, and quality requirements, maintaining a high level of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Document work performed in accordance with company and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate records of installations, modifications, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of installation and modification practices by sharing feedback and observations with supervisors and engineering teams.

Essential Skills

  • Avionics installation and modification experience on aircraft is required.
  • Experience performing heavy avionics modifications and installations, including complex wiring and harness work.
  • Ability to install, modify, and troubleshoot avionics systems using technical data, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with avionics systems and avionics harness installation.
  • Rotary-wing avionics experience is strongly preferred, with knowledge and understanding on platforms such as EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UH-60, or AH-64 considered highly valuable.
  • Willingness to work in a hangar/completion center environment on new helicopter completions and retrofit projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) modifications is a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience on EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UH-60, or AH-64 aircraft is highly beneficial.
  • Fixed-wing avionics installation and modification experience may be considered if strong in mod/install work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team in a production and completion environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship in avionics installations and modifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
