Job description

Heil Law Firm is seeking a highly organized and proactive Paralegal to support our fast-paced personal injury practice in Houston. This role is critical to keeping cases moving efficiently from intake through settlement, with a strong focus on deadlines, documentation, and client support.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and track DCOs (Deadlines, Court Orders, and Obligations) across all phases of personal injury cases
  • Maintain precise calendaring for litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, and statute of limitations
  • Prepare and maintain drafting shells for demands, pleadings, discovery, and client correspondence
  • Organize and maintain case files, medical records, bills, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with demand package preparation, including compiling records, summaries, and exhibits
  • Coordinate with clients, providers, and insurance adjusters to obtain necessary documentation
  • Proactively monitor case progress and anticipate next steps to support attorneys and case managers


Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury (plaintiff side preferred)
  • Strong understanding of personal injury case flow (treatment, records, demands, negotiations, litigation)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet strict deadlines
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and internal team members
