Hedge Fund Solutions ("HFS") Product Strategy Overview

BlackRock's Hedge Fund Solutions (HFS) platform within MASS, invests across the spectrum of hedge fund strategies with the objective of delivering strong risk-adjusted returns with low correlation to traditional asset classes. HFS partners with clients globally to construct diversified hedge fund portfolios and customized investment solutions. As of January 2026, HFS runs over $37 billion in assets, making it one of the largest allocators to hedge funds, globally.

The HFS Product Strategy (PS) team sits at the intersection of investments, sales, and platform strategy. Product Strategists work closely with BlackRock's investment, sales and client relationship teams in order to raise new capital from prospective clients as well as retain and grow relationships with existing clients. Product Strategists are involved in driving forward these efforts which include working with the investment teams to design client solutions, developing related marketing materials and written content, as well as enhancing systems/processes. The role demands a high degree of collaboration with other team members, BlackRock business units and frequent interaction with clients and prospective clients.

This Director role will drive strategic growth across BlackRock's HFS platform in the AMRS region. The role partners closely with Product Strategy leadership to shape and implement the regional business plan, identify new business opportunities, and engage prospective investors to expand the platform's footprint.

This individual will also lead client relationship management and sales efforts, working alongside BlackRock relationship management teams and internal partners to retain and grow mandates. The role oversees the execution of complex, cross-functional investment mandates, ensuring seamless coordination across legal, operations, and other teams. The Director also develops marketing materials and strategic content to support business development and regional initiatives, while engaging in substantive investment discussions with clients and prospects across the HFS platform.

Description of Responsibilities: Hedge Fund Solutions Product Strategist - Director

Client & Commercial Engagement

  • Lead and drive new business development initiatives, due diligence requests and ongoing client relationship management in coordination with BlackRock relationship management and investment teams.

  • Shape and deliver compelling messaging that articulates HFS' capabilities and the role of hedge fund strategies within broader client portfolios to clients and/or internal partners, influencing asset allocation decisions and strategic mandates.

  • Lead client meetings, portfolio reviews and strategic discussions, representing HFS with authority and credibility.

  • Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform client strategy, investment positioning, and commercial strategy.

Platform Strategy & Support

  • Partner with senior HFS leadership to drive sales, marketing and client service strategy for the Hedge Fund Solutions platform in the AMRS, including commingled funds and customized client solutions, supporting delivery of commercial outcomes and regional growth objectives.

  • Work alongside Product Strategy Leadership to advance product development initiatives and platform enhancements, helping shape strategic priorities and leading cross-functional workstreams from concept through launch.

  • Coordinate the development of pitch materials and related marketing content, as well as commercial and often complex written responses to new business opportunities and client inquiries (including RFPs/DDQs), ensuring strategic alignment, messaging consistency and high-quality execution.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Drive collaboration across investments, risk management, operations, legal, compliance and relationship management to implement investment mandates and strategic platform initiatives.

  • Help establish protocols and scalable processes across teams to ensure consistent messaging, operational rigor and efficient delivery aligned with platform objectives.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$210,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
