Service Manager - Heavy Equipment Service - Base Salary to 85k/year - Bloomington, IN

  • Our client is an established heavy equipment distributor seeking a Service Manager to lead heavy equipment dealership service operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily service department and shop operations, managing budgets and operational performance, coordinating technician workflow, reviewing work orders, processing warranty claims, and supporting service revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily heavy equipment Service Department and shop operations.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, goals, service department financials, operational reporting, and overall performance.
  • Grow service revenue through customer relationships, business development, and service promotions.
  • Process warranty and Product Improvement Program claims accurately and on time.
  • Schedule and assign heavy equipment repair, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and service work based on technician skills and workload.
  • Review work orders for accuracy before billing.
  • Maintain service tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and manage Service Department staff.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a service technician within a heavy equipment, construction equipment, or related equipment service environment.
  • Prior heavy equipment shop experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment machinery, equipment systems, parts, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance.
  • Experience with service department financials, budgets, operational reporting, work orders, and service operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
  • Technical school certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and squat throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a loud shop environment with exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Base salary in the 75k - 85k/year range
