Utility & General Infrastructure

Job Summary

We are seeking dependable and hardworkingCivil Construction Laborers to assist with utility, pipeline, water main, and general infrastructure construction projects.

This position involves hands-on physical labor, working around heavy equipment, assisting utility and pipe crews, preparing job sites, handling construction materials, and restoring work areas after installation or repair work is completed.

Candidates must be safety-focused, reliable, able to follow directions, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hand-dig trenches and excavation areas around existing underground utilities, pipelines, water mains, and electrical conduits.
  • Assist with trench grading, shoring, backfilling, and soil compaction.
  • Clear debris and other obstacles from construction sites.
  • Set up barricades, warning signs, and traffic-control devices as required.
  • Load, unload, move, and properly store construction materials such as pipe, fittings, gravel, concrete, and other infrastructure materials.
  • Safely operate common hand and power tools, including:
    • Jackhammers
    • Pneumatic tampers
    • Pipe saws
    • Trench compactors
    • Shovels and other hand tools
  • Assist pipe and utility crews with guiding, aligning, positioning, and securing pipe and structural components.
  • Work safely around excavators, backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and other heavy construction equipment.
  • Backfill trenches and compact soil according to project requirements.
  • Assist with basic asphalt, concrete, and surface restoration.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company, client, OSHA, and job-site safety procedures.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform additional construction labor duties as assigned by supervisors.
Must Have
  • Previous experience performing physical labor in acivil construction, utility, pipeline, underground construction, or similar environment.
  • Experience working safely around heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including digging, lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively in an active and sometimes loud construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of basic job-site safety procedures.
  • Willingness to wear all required PPE.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work overtime or extended hours when required.

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
