Job description

Position Summary

Tampa Brass & Aluminum Corp is seeking a skilled Heat Treat Specialist to oversee all heat treating operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing furnace operations, developing and maintaining heat treat procedures, ensuring proper staging of castings, and maintaining equipment performance and compliance with applicable specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily heat treat operations including furnaces and related equipment
  • Develop, implement, and maintain heat treatment procedures and process controls
  • Stage castings and materials for proper heat treatment cycles
  • Monitor furnace performance to ensure consistent and reliable operation
  • Verify temperature controls, cycle parameters, and process accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements
  • Maintain equipment calibration, maintenance schedules, and operational readiness
  • Troubleshoot heat treat process issues and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to support production flow
  • Maintain accurate process records, logs, and documentation for audits and traceability
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in heat treat operations or metallurgical processing
  • Strong knowledge of furnace operations and heat treatment processes
  • Experience working with castings or metal manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and process requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality control standards

Preferred:

  • Experience in brass or aluminum heat treating
  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense manufacturing standards
  • Knowledge of furnace controls, calibration, and maintenance practices
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Work Environment
