LOCATION: Grand Detroit, Michigan
100% RELOCATION OFFERED TO THE RIGHT QUALIFIED CANDIDATE!!
THE OPPORTUNITY
A senior project leadership role supporting one of the nation's most significant healthcare greenfield construction programs in Detroit, MI. This role leads the delivery of complex healthcare technology and low-voltage systems on a large-scale construction project valued at over $80 million, working alongside owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and technology trade partners to deliver a world-class smart healthcare facility. You'll oversee multidisciplinary teams, drive construction execution from groundbreaking through closeout, and play a critical leadership role in one of the industry's most impactful healthcare technology projects.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Project Executive owns the full lifecycle of healthcare technology and low-voltage scopes on a large-scale greenfield healthcare construction project, guiding the project from inception through final completion. This senior leadership position requires extensive construction project management experience on projects valued at $80 million or greater, with accountability for project execution, safety, budget performance, client relationships, change management, constructability, and schedule alignment.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership for a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 project professionals while coordinating subcontractors and technology trade partners throughout the construction lifecycle. This role requires an experienced construction leader who has successfully led project teams in the field and cannot be fulfilled by candidates whose experience has been limited to individual contributor or remote project management roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Executive Client Engagement
  • Build strong client and project stakeholder relationships that support successful delivery, repeat work, and our position as a trusted technology integration partner.
  • Lead project status meetings, milestone reviews, and proactive communication on schedule, budget, scope, and risk.
  • Lead end-to-end healthcare technology and low-voltage scope delivery on large-scale greenfield healthcare construction projects from project inception through final completion.
  • Partner with general contractors, project leadership, subcontractors, and technology trade partners to align technology milestones with the overall construction schedule and proactively resolve conflicts.
  • Manage project budgets, cost projections, change tracking, financial performance, and forecasting for assigned technology scopes.
  • Manage change order documentation, pricing review, and negotiation support in coordination with senior leadership.
  • Oversee final stages of pre-construction procurement including scope leveling, vendor pricing, RFP review, and subcontractor selection.
  • Directly coordinate and oversee subcontractors and technology trade partners, ensuring performance, deliverables, scheduling, quality, safety, and field coordination meet project objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide hands-on leadership for a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 project managers, site leaders, project engineers, coordinators, and administrative support staff.
  • Lead daily project execution and foster accountability across internal teams and field operations.
  • Support onboarding, team alignment, workforce planning, and resource allocation as project demands evolve.
  • Mentor project team members while driving collaboration across construction, technology, and client stakeholders.
  • Drive post-project evaluations and translate lessons learned into improved delivery standards.
Safety & Compliance
  • Champion an injury-free culture through personal example and active accountability across all sites.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and healthcare construction safety protocols.
  • Support Union relations, workforce training, and field safety initiatives.
  • Promote quality assurance and construction best practices across all technology installations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required experience managing large-scale greenfield construction projects valued at $80 million or greater from inception through project completion.
  • Strong construction project management experience is required.
  • Proven experience leading healthcare construction programs.
  • Experience managing healthcare technology and low-voltage systems including AV, Security, Structured Cabling, DAS, Nurse Call, RTLS, BAS, or related systems within complex construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams with direct people leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience supervising approximately 10 or more project personnel, including project managers, engineers, field leaders, and support staff.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated leadership experience managing project teams and field operations. Experience limited to individual contributor responsibilities or remote project management will not be considered sufficient.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and technology trade partners, including responsibility for performance management, scheduling, quality, safety, deliverables, and field coordination.
  • Proven experience partnering with general contractors, project leadership teams, subcontractors, and trade partners to successfully integrate technology work with the overall construction schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage executive-level client relationships with professionalism and credibility.
  • Strong financial acumen including budget ownership, forecasting, procurement, and change management on major construction programs.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with executive, ownership, and client stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the organizational discipline to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
WHY THIS ROLE
This is an opportunity to lead one of the country's premier healthcare greenfield construction programs from a blank site to a world-class smart healthcare campus. You'll oversee major healthcare technology and low-voltage construction valued at more than $80 million, lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 professionals, and collaborate with general contractors, subcontractors, and technology trade partners to deliver a landmark project. If you're an experienced construction leader who thrives on leading large teams, managing complex field operations, and delivering transformational healthcare facilities from inception through completion, we'd like to meet you.
