Job description

Healthcare Software Specialist| Grand Rapids, MI| Full Time

The Healthcare Software Specialist plays a key role in supporting the implementation, optimization, and ongoing adoption of Hope Network’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role works closely with service providers, clinical and revenue management teams, Quality, Compliance, IT, and external vendors to align processes, support system configuration, coordinate testing and training, and promote best practices that strengthen documentation, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

    • Work closely with service providers to implement, maintain, and continuously improve Hope Network’s EHR systems.
    • Apply project management principles to coordinate EHR initiatives, projects, and system improvements.
    • Travel between Hope Network worksites and external locations to attend meetings, trainings, and provide operational support.
    • Perform or supervise the configuration, customization, and implementation of new EHR systems and components based on Hope Network priorities.
    • Partner with Hope Network IT and relevant vendors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system challenges.
    • Coordinate process mapping and alignment meetings with service lines to maintain the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the EHR.
    • Coordinate EHR testing through remote or in-person meetings and ensure systems function as intended prior to implementation.
    • Develop working knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to EHR systems and incorporate them into ongoing staff education.
    • Coordinate EHR end-user training and monitor compliance with required training.
    • Assist with the creation and ongoing administration of EHR billing best practices and internal audit controls.
    • Collaborate with Hope Network Quality Department personnel to develop, align, and utilize reports that support informed decision-making.
    • Partner with the Hope Network Compliance Department to develop and align audits that promote data integrity, timely documentation, and HIPAA privacy and security compliance.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (equivalent years of relevant experience will be accepted).
    • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in health care or human service field.
    • A minimum of two years working with PCE systems such as eCare, CHIP, LEO, FOCUS or Next Gen healthcare software
    • Must have a high degree of self-direction and ability to manage tasks to completion, and meet deadline in a fast –paced ever changing work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to foresee and proactively seek out the requirements and solutions that enable Hope Network to achieve its organizational goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats, with both technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead project teams and to accomplish goals within approved budgets.
