What is healthcare real estate?

Healthcare real estate refers to properties specifically designed, constructed, or used for medical purposes, such as hospitals, clinics, outpatient centers, and medical office buildings. These facilities are tailored to meet the unique needs and regulations of the healthcare industry, including accessibility, safety standards, and specialized infrastructure. Professionals in healthcare real estate manage, develop, lease, or invest in these properties to support healthcare providers and improve patient care.

What are jobs in healthcare real estate?

A healthcare real estate professional helps healthcare providers and medical businesses find buildings that fit their needs. A healthcare real estate agent is a specialized type of commercial real estate agent. After you find a suitable building, your duties include helping to negotiate a lease contract for the facility. Some healthcare real estate managers or specialists work with healthcare providers who have multiple locations. Your responsibilities involve finding facilities that have the necessary equipment and infrastructure to handle the unique needs of healthcare providers. You can either work with healthcare providers in general or specialize in certain facilities that have very unique needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in healthcare real estate, and why are they important?

To thrive in Healthcare Real Estate, you need a strong understanding of real estate markets, healthcare facility requirements, and relevant regulations, often supported by a degree in real estate, business, or healthcare administration. Familiarity with property management software, financial modeling tools, and knowledge of compliance standards such as HIPAA and ADA is typically required. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills help professionals excel in tenant relations and deal-making. These skills and qualities are crucial for successfully navigating complex transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and meeting the unique needs of healthcare clients.

Healthcare Real Estate professionals frequently work alongside medical providers, facility managers, and clinical staff to ensure real estate solutions meet both operational and regulatory needs. This collaboration involves site selection, lease negotiations, and facility design to support patient flow and compliance with healthcare standards. Open communication and understanding of clinical workflows are essential for creating spaces that enhance patient care and provider efficiency. Building strong relationships with stakeholders is a key part of the role and can lead to smoother project execution and ongoing partnership opportunities.

Job description:

Morton Bradbury Real Estate Group is looking for an organized, proactive, and highly communicative Client Care Coordinator to join our growing real estate team in Raleigh.

The Client Care Coordinator plays an important role in both the client experience and the day-to-day operations of our team. You will often be the first point of contact for new prospective clients, helping us learn more about their real estate needs, connecting them with the appropriate team member, and ensuring that communication and follow-up happen consistently.

You will also help manage our existing client and lead database, coordinate closely with our agents, monitor follow-up and activity, maintain accurate records, and help ensure important tasks and opportunities do not fall through the cracks.

This is a fast-paced, phone-forward position. You must be comfortable making and answering a high volume of phone calls throughout the workday in an open, collaborative office environment. The right person is confident communicating with others, highly organized, comfortable with accountability, and able to take initiative without constant direction.

  • Gather and document important information about prospective buyers and sellers
  • Coordinate new client opportunities with our real estate agents
  • Accurately enter and maintain client information in our CRM
  • Manage daily CRM tasks, follow-ups, reminders, and client communication
  • Monitor client and lead activity to ensure important follow-ups are completed
  • Work closely with our agents to help provide a smooth and professional client experience
  • Maintain organized and detailed client records, notes, and timelines
  • Nurture prospective clients who may not be ready to buy or sell immediately
  • Maintain our database of prospective, active, and past clients
  • Send and track referral agreements with partner agents
  • Assist with scheduling and client coordination
  • Work closely with our agents and leadership team to help provide a smooth and professional client experience
  • Assist with general office organization, cleaning, and upkeep
  • Possible occasional dog sitting

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional customer service experience required
  • Residential real estate experience strongly preferred
  • NC Real Estate License preferred
  • Comfortable making and receiving a high volume of phone calls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change
  • Proactive and able to identify what needs to be done without always being asked
  • Professional, personable, and confident when communicating with clients
  • Comfortable following up with team members and helping maintain accountability to established expectations
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and working within established systems and processes
  • Strong technology skills and ability to quickly learn new platforms
  • Experience with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and real estate technology is preferred
  • Dependable and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Must be able to reliably commute to our North Raleigh office
