Job description

IT project management for projects that are either:

  • Large, led by IT but include significant operational technology (OT) components in addition to IT components
  • Led by line of business with civil/construction aspects, managed by others, but in which there is an IT portion that needs project management
Manage this project, which fits the first bullet point above:
CASS/VSS Replacement
n assumption in this project is that design work will be performed by others.
Manage the IT portion of this project, which fits the second bullet point above:
PARCS Equipment
lso, task management for non-project work efforts and here is an example:
The line of business would be contracting with about half a dozen proposed food and beverage operators:
Then each new operator would need to be onboarded for telecommunications services with IT tracking these efforts (and if any old operators from previous contracts would be ending operations, those vendors would likewise need to be offboarded).
This role is primarily IT project management and work effort task tracking therefore the required skillset is IT project management, more than other skillsets such as business analysis, requirements gathering, application and system design.
Note that this role of IT project manager may be called an IS project manager elsewhere.
In addition to the standard background check conducted for all Department of Technology employees including contractors, there will be an additional background check conducted (likely in parallel) by Department of Airports that is required for working at the airport and involves a Security Threat Assessment (STA) by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The STA for non-US born persons, including naturalized US Citizens born abroad, is currently taking longer, with an estimate of 2 to 3 weeks. Two forms of ID are required for all applicants and while several possible combinations of different IDs are accepted, a common pattern is driver's license and paper Social Security card and note that some applicants ending up needing some time to find their paper Social Security card...
