Job description

As a Registered Nurse Clinical Informaticist, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly regarded and encouraged at every level. Whether through collaborative relationships with your direct supervisor or through more structured avenues such as hospital councils and national nursing initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in influencing decisions that enhance patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Role Overview

The Clinical Informaticist is tasked with facilitating the implementation and ongoing support of standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization efforts related to electronic health records and other clinical technologies across the organization. This role involves coordinating, supporting, and executing project assessments, advancing projects, setting parameters, mapping workflows, and providing tools and resources that align with Clinical Informatics initiatives. Key areas of focus include provider order entry, clinical documentation standards, Meaningful Use, and other technologies that enhance clinician workflows. The Clinical Informaticist will also engage with the broader community of Informatics, collaborating with the director of clinical informatics and facility colleagues to ensure robust support for clinical applications throughout the facility.

Qualifications Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field
  • At least 1 to 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital environment
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical application support, or a similar role; experience with Meditech or Epic is strongly preferred
