Job description

Business Development DirectorSigma HomeCare is looking for a sharp, relationship-driven Business Development Director to help grow our Private Pay Division across Wayne County.This isn't a desk job, and it isn't a "wait for leads" role. Sigma needs someone who can get out into the community, build real relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, and care coordinators, and turn those relationships into consistent referral growth.The role covers outreach, territory management, and relationship-building: roughly 40 in-person visits a week, facility presentations, community events, and ongoing follow-up with referral partners across hospitals, physician offices, rehab facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and senior centers.Key relationships to build and manage:Case ManagersSocial WorkersDischarge PlannersDirectors of NursingRehabilitation DirectorsCare CoordinatorsPhysicians and Practice ManagersThe right person is highly personable, self-motivated, organized, persistent, and comfortable working independently in the field. They know how to turn a first conversation into a lasting referral partnership - and they track their territory closely enough to know exactly where the next opportunity is.What success looks like: consistent outreach activity, growing referral relationships, and steady growth in private-pay census.RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience2+ years in business development, healthcare sales, community outreach, or account managementValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to travel extensively throughout the assigned territoryStrong communication, organization, and time-management skillsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary, performance-based bonuses, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, ongoing training, and real career growth as Sigma's private-pay division scales.Individuals with a criminal record are not encouraged to apply.
