Job description

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Business Architect for our San Antonio, TX facility. PURPOSE OF JOB This position is responsible for translating strategic vision into operational designs (people, process, technology, and information) ensuring achievement of strategic objectives through the continuous improvement and solution delivery processes. Serves as a liaison between the business and IT, and coaches and mentors Business Architects in their role.

This is the highest level in the Business Architect career path. JOB DUTIES Manages multiple initiatives of significant scope and complexity. Leads and facilitates cross-functional, collaborative teams in transformational initiatives using business architecture principles to ensure target state is achieved.

Acquires and applies advanced knowledge of assigned and related business domains and business architecture discipline. Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature. Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work product.

Develops training materials and educates partners and peers on strategies, processes, and procedures. Captures and understands the business goals, objectives, metrics, and measures, and targets to provide traceability through the organization. Ensures that business architecture target state design aligns to and enables business and enterprise goals and objectives.

Performs current state assessments against target state to identify people, process, technology, and information gaps. Utilizes the current state assessments and architectural designs to participate in the development of transformation roadmap(s). Develops an integrated view of assigned business domain using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and defined USAA techniques.

Consults with Enterprise Architects to ensure integration across domains. Conducts peer reviews for level I business architects. Works with the architecture community (i.e., Technology, Information, Organization Design, Process Engineering) and Program Management to ensure alignment

Develops and maintains working relationships with business leaders/strategy owners. Advises executive roles through objective metrics of progress and recommended directional changes to current and future state. May provide written or verbal counsel, correspondence, and or develop presentations to/for executive levels.

Analyzes the current business environment to detect critical deficiencies and identify improvement opportunities. Competencies: Business Acumen, Collaboration (Team Building), Communication, Demonstrate Adaptability (Agility), Drive for Results and Innovation. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in business management or engineering (or equivalent work experience).

5+ years of Business Architecture experience. 5+ years of experience working in or improving the operations of one or more business areas. Experience working with senior management.

Advanced use of MS Office (i.e., PowerPoint and Word) and document management systems. Excellent communication with very strong writing, proofing and editorial skills. Experience facilitating large, cross-functional work groups and groups of business leaders, with various facilitation techniques

Internal and executive presentation experience. Experience creating business cases. Experience with business capability or case modeling.

Preferred Masters degree and/or process engineering, business and/or enterprise architecture certification. Expert negotiation, conflict resolution and analytical skills, experience with causal loop modeling and systems dynamics. Experience with multiple enterprise program planning and organizational design initiatives.

Broad experience in financial services industry, marketing/sales/service and contact center environments, or life/health product management and operational environments. Consulting and/or advisor experience at a senior executive level to effect large scale business change. Experience in leading large, cross-functional teams to quickly deliver high business impact.
