  • Job Summary
    • The Healthcare Data Analyst serves as an enterprise reporting and analytics resource, transforming healthcare data into meaningful information that supports strategic, operational, financial, clinical, quality, and regulatory decision-making.
      This position develops and maintains reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics; analyzes organizational data; ensures data accuracy and integrity; and provides actionable insights to executive leadership, physicians, department leaders, quality, finance, revenue cycle, clinical teams, and other stakeholders.
      The Healthcare Data Analyst will also promote standardized reporting practices, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement while supporting the long-term sustainability of the organization's reporting and decision-support processes.
  • Job Specifications
    • Education
      Bachelor's degree required in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Public Health, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
      Experience
      Three years of progressively responsible experience preferred in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, decision support, data analysis, financial analysis, quality reporting, or healthcare operations. Hospital experience strongly preferred.
      Technical Knowledge & Skills
      • Advanced Microsoft Excel
      • SQL and database concepts
      • Data analysis, statistical analysis, forecasting, and benchmarking
      • Data visualization and dashboard development
      • Microsoft Power BI preferred
      • Crystal Reports, SSRS, or equivalent reporting tools preferred
      • Microsoft Office Suite
      • Electronic Health Record reporting systems

      • Experience developing dashboards and executive scorecards
      • Experience with healthcare benchmarking databases
      • Experience with healthcare budgeting, productivity, and operational analytics

      Perinatal / Maternal Health - Preferred Bonus
      Experience supporting perinatal, maternal, and neonatal health initiatives is highly preferred, particularly experience supporting public health grants or HRSA-funded programs.
      The successful candidate will provide data support for the MDH MOMCare grant, including:
      • Managing and analyzing maternal and neonatal health data.
      • Supporting data collection, reporting, and grant compliance requirements.
      • Measuring program outcomes and developing reports to inform maternal health initiatives in rural communities.
      • Supporting quality measures, program evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
      • Collaborating with clinical and community partners on maternal health data needs.

      Preferred perinatal experience includes Obstetrics, maternal/neonatal health, public health grants, HRSA-funded programs, quality measures, database analysis, programming, or grant administration.
      Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau, or Power BI is beneficial.
