Position Summary
The Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the home healthcare agency. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, promotes high-quality patient care, oversees staff performance, manages financial operations, and supports agency growth throughout the Chicagoland market. The Administrator serves as the key liaison between patients, families, referral sources, employees, and regulatory agencies.
Key
ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
Direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency.
Ensure the agency maintains compliance with all applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and payer requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor agency policies and procedures.
Establish operational goals and performance metrics to ensure quality service delivery.
Maintain readiness for state surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews.
Clinical and Quality Oversight
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and clinical leadership to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Review patient satisfaction trends and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to care plans.
Human Resources Management
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate administrative and clinical staff.
Foster a positive, professional, and patient-centered workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, credentialing requirements, and personnel policies.
Support employee development, retention, and performance management.
Financial Management
Develop and manage agency budgets.
Monitor revenue, expenses, payroll, and financial performance.
Ensure accurate billing practices and timely reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other payers.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Business Development & Community Relations
Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, and other referral sources.
Represent the agency at community events and professional organizations.
Support marketing and growth initiatives throughout the Chicagoland area.
Identify new service opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintain compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Medicare Conditions of Participation, OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
Ensure all licenses, certifications, and insurance requirements remain current.
Lead investigations and corrective action plans related to compliance concerns.
QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of management experience in home healthcare, hospice, healthcare administration, or a related healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, IDPH regulations, and home healthcare operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
Illinois Home Health Administrator experience.
Experience with ACHC, CHAP, or Joint Commission accreditation standards.
Proven success in healthcare business development and agency growth.
