Job description

Work Shift
The Administrative Fellow responsibilities include rotating through different system departments and facilities, professional development, meeting attendance/facilitation and management of projects and initiatives. Fellow reports directly to a preceptor that is in a senior management, hospital-level position. The position is to provide healthcare system management and healthcare administration training and leadership. It aims to both foster the development of individuals committed to a career in healthcare administration and serve as a project and leadership resources to the organization. The position provides practical experience through direct exposure and active participation in a variety of healthcare administration management and leadership activities in preparation for future leadership opportunities within the WellStar System.
Project Management: The position is responsible for the management, execution and completion of facility and/or system-level projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff and the executive team. Position will work in conjunction with executive team to and contribute to the work of administrative units within WellStar. Projects to include leadership, management and execution of system-level initiatives and strategies. Create and lead teams to achieve desired project goals and outcomes by planning, tracking and measuring progress.
Meetings: Facilitate system-level and senior leadership meetings as assigned by preceptor to gain unique insight into the organization and system-level leadership. Meeting facilitation will foster leadership effectiveness, improve organizational efficiency and add value by improving outcomes. Develop and deliver meeting agenda's, presentations, progress reports and determine/delegate any follow-up items.
Process Improvement: Resolve system process issues by analyzing, recommending and implementing new policies/procedures that support operational and business goals and improve outcomes as directed from the executive team at the system-level. Fellows will not only engage in initiatives but lead process improvement projects.
Rotations: Build a broad range of healthcare management, administrative, and leadership skills by rotating to different departments and actively working with physicians, administrative colleagues, and clinical staff. During each rotation, the fellow will be paired with a system leader to foster in-depth exposure to the different areas of healthcare administration and leadership as well as provide feedback and insight.
Professional Development: Enhance professionally through participation in a variety of leadership activities to promote growth and professional development. Participate in professional organizations (i.e. GACHE) to maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in healthcare and healthcare administration. Participate in leadership development and mentoring.
Performs other duties as assigned

Masters Health Administration (Required)
Required Minimum Experience:
Previous healthcare experience a plus. (Required)
