Job description

Reporter – Health

The Times-Picayune is seeking a health reporter to join our New Orleans newsroom.

In a state that is often at the bottom of health and wellness rankings, The Times-Picayune’s health coverage is a critical part of our news report. We’re looking for a reporter that can range widely. Coverage areas include the public health topic of the moment, the work of our leading health care institutions and the leadership of our public health agencies.

Success means being adept at daily stories and finding scoops while building towards strong enterprise stories that speak to the challenges, opportunities and innovations in Louisiana healthcare and public policy. You’ll do that at a locally owned, Pulitzer-Prize winning media company that’s served readers for nearly two centuries and values distinctive, impactful journalism.

The company is an equal opportunity employer, committed to recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing unique opportunities and career paths for our employees. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply.

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes medical, vision and dental insurance, short term disability, long term disability and a 401K plan.
