Description:

  • Hybrid Schedule: Mon and Wed (9 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM) in office and Thu (9 AM โ€“ 1 PM or 1 PMโ€“5 PM) Remote
  • Work hours: 20-30hrs per week (At times additional hours maybe requested/scheduled)
  • Dress code: Business casual
  • Parking: Street parking (free and metered), paid lot parking. Candidate is responsible for all parking cost

Job Description:

  • The client'sย Annenberg Center for Health Journalism partners with newsrooms across America and helps journalists and community storytellers innovate, investigate, and illuminate health challenges in their communities, serving as a catalyst for change.
  • We are seeking a communications specialist for a temporary, project-based role to support and enhance the Centerโ€™s communications and development.

This includes:

  • Design and execution of social media strategy to promote the work of the Center.
  • Develop internal and external communications to convey the accomplishments and impacts of reporting by the journalists participating in our programs.
  • Advance initiatives connected to our end-of year fundraising efforts.
  • The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of designing and executing successful audience engagement campaigns for nonprofit or mission-driven media organizations, as well as deep expertise in digital communications, graphics for social media, email marketing, and using performance metrics to guide strategy.
  • A background in nonprofit communications and health journalism is preferred.
  • We'd welcome social media strategy, fundraising, journalism, nonprofit communications, email marketing experience.
  • Finalists will be required to complete a paid 3-4 hour writing exercise as part of their interview process to assess their knowledge of subject matter.
