Clinical Pharmacist – Central Pharmacy Operations Lead

Location: Presbyterian Medical Center - Charlotte, NC

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Additional Coverage: Every 4th weekend & rotating holidays

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a Central Pharmacy Operations Lead to provide frontline operational leadership within our centralized pharmacy services.

In this role, you’ll lead daily front-end pharmacy operations while partnering closely with IV room leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery. You’ll play a key role in optimizing workflows, supporting system-wide pharmacy initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across medication-use processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acute care or inpatient pharmacy operations experience

  • Strong knowledge of medication-use systems and centralized distribution

  • Experience in process improvement, operations, or informatics

What You'll Do

  • Lead and optimize front-end inpatient pharmacy workflows, including medication distribution and day-to-day operations

  • Drive process improvement initiatives (minimum of 2 annually) to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality

  • Support and participate in pharmacy and health system go-live events, including system implementations and workflow changes

  • Serve as a designated trainer (Dis & CS-7):

  • Lead onboarding and training for new hires

  • Provide ongoing staff education, including at least 2 annual presentations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to pharmacy systems and workflows

  • Coordinate daily staffing callouts for pharmacists and technicians, ensuring seamless coverage and contingency planning

  • Partner with pharmacy leadership to align operations with departmental goals and organizational priorities

What We're Looking For

  • Education : 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification.

  • PharmD, preferred.

  • Experience : Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy. Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles, required. 2 years of experience for Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP - accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required.

  • Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required. Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.

  • Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
