Theย Dataย Managementย Specialist will provide comprehensive data management services supporting federal grant administration programs. The specialist willย be responsible forย ensuring data integrity across multiple systems,ย maintainingย workflow tracking solutions, and supporting federal personnel withย accurate, reliable data management. This is an ONSITE position required to be performed at one of the Regional Office locations (Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, or Washington DC), with telework available upon approval.ย
Keyย Responsibilities:ย
- Provideย advanced support in project management and analysis within an organizationย
- Developย project plans,ย tracking project progress, analyzing project data, preparing project reports, andย identifyingย potentialย projectย risks and opportunitiesย
- Assistย in project budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder communicationย
- Conductย comprehensive data quality oversight and implementingย validation procedures to ensureย accurate, reliable data across all systemsย
- Reviewย existing data systems toย identifyย inaccurate data and improperly maintained records, developing corrective action plansย
- Develop and implement processes for ongoing data quality monitoring and continuous improvementย
- Apply data governance principles and best practices toย establishย organizational data standardsย
- Establish andย maintainย data quality standards, metrics, and key performance indicatorsย
- Perform regular data audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and federal requirementsย
- Maintain and support workflow tracking solutions, ensuring seamless integration with federal systems through data pipelines, APIs, and data transformation processesย
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate system updates, andย maintainย comprehensive documentation and user guidesย
- Enter, update, andย maintainย accurateย data in databases, spreadsheets, and applications, ensuring up-to-date grant information and compliance with federal records requirementsย
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills toย identifyย data quality issues and implement effective solutionsย
- Promote data alignment and consistency across multiple systems and support metadata management initiativesย
- Track grant administration workflows, including applications, enrollment reporting, issues, corrective actions, and monitoring activitiesย
- Create andย maintainย data assets, develop tracking tools (email lists, schedules, and timelines), and provide comprehensive reporting supportย
- Coordinate workflows across teams and regions, proactivelyย identifyingย and resolving bottlenecks and inefficienciesย
- Ensure compliance with federal records management regulations andย maintainย official recordsย in accordance withย federal standardsย
- Assistย in reporting quarterly performance metrics to federal stakeholdersย
- Provide technical support for data management tools and platforms to federal staff and regional officesย
- Coordinate with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and other technical team members on data projectsย
- Support ad hoc data projects as assigned by managementย
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for operational systems and processesย
- Deliver training and guidance to end users on data management tools and best practicesย
- Complete annual mandatory federal training requirementsย
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive informationย
- Travel within and outside the Region to conduct site visits, attend meetings, conferences, and training asย requiredย
Position Requirementsย
Education:ย
- Bachelorโs degree inย informationย management,ย libraryย science, orย aย related field from an accredited university or collegeย
Required Experience:ย
- Minimum ofย 3ย years of relevant post-baccalaureate professional experienceย directly relatedย to data management tasksย
- Experience with data quality assurance and validation methodologiesย
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practical applicationsย
- Experience with document management systemsย
- Metadata management experienceย
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United Statesย
- Ability to obtain andย maintainย a Public Trust security clearanceย
- Proven ability toย maintainย close attention to detail and accuracy in all work productsย
- Exceptional professional communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to interact effectively with federal personnelย
- Advancedย proficiencyย in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functionsย
- Advancedย proficiencyย in Smartsheet for project management and workflow trackingย
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)ย
- Experience with web-based collaboration tools and platformsย
- Proficiencyย with data quality tools and validation techniquesย
- Strong skills in data cleaning, documentation, and records managementย
- Basic SQL knowledge for database queries and data extractionย
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities toย identifyย and resolve data quality issuesย
