Job description

Join Goodwin's Global Operations Team, and make a real impact on a global scale. At Goodwin, we work with some of the world's most successful and innovative investors, entrepreneurs and disruptors in the life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology and financial industries, and where they converge. As part of the Global Operations Team - all business professionals at the firm - you'll collaborate with colleagues from varied backgrounds and experiences, fostering an environment where cross-functional learning, networking, and collaboration are at the core of what we do.
Here, we're not just supporting a law firm; we're partnering with attorneys and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution, world-class regulatory compliance and advisory services, and complex transactions. Our commitment to integrity, ingenuity, agility, and ambition drives us, and we're proud to have been recognised as the "Best Business Team" by The American Lawyer.
This is your opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment, surrounded by forward-thinking peers.

The Manager, Data Management is responsible for establishing and operationalizing a firm-wide data management program that drives measurableimprovements in data quality, ownership, and accountability across key master data domains, including client, contact, and matter-related data.
This role owns data quality standards, measurement frameworks, and operating processes, while enforcing a distributed ownership model in which business stakeholders are accountable for the quality of the data they create and maintain. The role partners closely with Data Governance, Technology, and business leadership, with a clear distinction that Governance defines policy and oversight, while this role owns execution, measurement, and enforcement of data quality practices across the firm.

What You Will Do:

  • Own and lead the firm's data quality and master data management program across designated data domains.

  • Establish, enforce, and continuously improve data quality standards, KPIs, and SLAs (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency).

  • Define and implement a clear data ownership model, including RACI frameworks for data owners, stewards, and supporting teams.

  • Drive accountability for data quality by partnering with business stakeholders and enforcing adherence to defined standards and performance expectations.

  • Develop and maintain data quality scorecards and reporting to provide transparency into performance at the team, domain, and firm level.

  • Manage and prioritize data quality remediation efforts, including root-cause analysis and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex or cross-functional data issues, including non-compliance with data standards or SLA breaches.

  • Partner with Data Governance to align on policies and controls, while independently driving operational execution and compliance.

  • Oversee bulk data updates, audits, exception handling, and data correction processes with a focus on scalability and control.

  • Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and tooling enhancements related to data quality and data management operations.

  • Supervise, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to data management staff.

  • Ensure documentation of data standards, definitions, processes, and controls is current and maintained.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Seven (7)+ years of experience in data management, data quality, data governance, or data stewardship roles.

  • Experience defining and implementing data quality metrics, KPIs, and performance reporting.

  • Preferred:

    • Experience operating in a federated or distributed data ownership environment.

    • Experience influencing business stakeholders and driving accountability without direct authority.

    • Familiarity with data governance tools, data catalogs, and data quality platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience building or operationalizing data quality or data management programs.

  • Strong knowledge of master data management, data quality frameworks, and distributed data ownership models.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with SQL and CRM systems (e.g., MS Dynamics, Salesforce).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
