Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center is an 1,045 bed facility located in the Texas medical center. A joint venture with Baylor College of Medicine, Baylor St. Lukes is an internationally recognized leader in research and clinical excellence that has given rise to breakthroughs in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, transplantation, and more. The hospital is home to the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, a nationally-accredited and NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. Our new McNair Campus is designed around the human experiencemodeled on evidence-based practices for the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. The 27.5-acre campus represents the future of healthcare through a transformative alliance focused on leading-edge patient care, research, and education.


As our Patient Care Assistant, youll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.
Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.
Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
  • Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
  • Monitors and records vital signs
  • Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
  • Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
  • Obtains and records daily weight
  • Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Required
  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience , upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
