Data Engineer, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Reston, VA
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join the team in the Northern Virginia area. The ideal Data Engineer will have expertise in data engineering and modeling using tools such as NiFi, Python, and PySpark and some cloud skills. The qualified Data Engineer must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This position is 100% Onsite.
Data Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using NiFi, Python, and PySpark.
- Build and optimize data models to support business requirements and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across various data sources and systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, models, and processes.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and big data processing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and standards.
Data Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering and modeling.
- Strong proficiency in NiFi, Python, and PySpark for data processing and transformation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)) and their data services.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and data lake architectures.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance.
