About The Role 3Degrees' mission is to enable our global customers to reduce their environmental impact and achieve their renewable energy and sustainability goals. We do this by offering a full suite of climate and renewable energy products and services, including renewable energy certificates (RECs), RNG certificates, carbon credits, GHG strategy consulting, and renewable energy procurement advisory services (PPAs and VPPAs). The Environmental Markets division procures and sells these commodities to meet our customers' needs. As a member of the North America Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) team, you will focus specifically on the United States and Canada, actively trading in over 55 REC markets across every power pool in the country. This is a full-time 3Degrees Environmental Markets position located in Portland, ME and will report to the Director of North American RECs or the Head of Trading. What You'll Do This role requires a strong operational focus and meticulous execution across various departments. You will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of deal entry into our internal database. A key part of your work will involve cross-functional collaboration with the Contracts and Trade Operations teams to ensure transaction details are accurately reflected in our agreements with counterparties and in our internal records. Your emphasis on process adherence and workflow optimization is essential to the team's success. Your work will involve the following: Contract Management & Execution Engage with the North America REC portfolio to ensure all positions are clearly and correctly reflected Assist in generating and delivering contracts to counterparties in a timely manner Manage increased contracting responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of agreements with counterparties Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work across departments to efficiently problem-solve contract issues and verify deal data Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external trading firms, ensuring alignment in deal terms and expectations Support the transition to new trading platforms and provide feedback to improve operational workflows Market & Portfolio Support Assist Origination and Trading teams in generating trade proposals, RFP-related documentation, and risk review write-ups Assist with deliveries, as well as portfolio optimization and allocation of REC supply Develop an understanding of renewable energy voluntary and compliance markets, and related regulatory frameworks Requirements ABOUT YOU You have a strong foundation in operational strategy and execution, able to streamline processes and drive effectiveness. You pride yourself on your attention to detail and excel at managing competing priorities. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands.
