Job Type: Temporary; Seasonal (Ongoing Pool)

Stipend Pay: $850.00

The Founders of the Aspen Ridge Preparatory School envision a community of students, teachers, parents, and administrators collaborating to create a rigorous, content-rich learning environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning and gives students a solid knowledge base to compete in a global society. Students will participate in successful, research-based curricula in the core content areas, focusing on technology, international experience, natural environment, personal development, and enrichment programs. Students will be encouraged to think independently and question the world around them. Ongoing assessment of the students, both formally and informally, will take place regularly to ensure individual student goals are attained by adapting instruction appropriately.


Job Summary:
Aspen Ridge Preparatory School seeks a passionate and experienced Head Coach to lead our athletic program with integrity and dedication. The Head Coach will foster an environment prioritizing academic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth while building a competitive and well-structured team. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to develop student-athletes on and off the field.


The position may become available as needed, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, develop, and supervise all aspects of the athletic program, including practices, games, and team-related activities.
  • Implement structured training programs that promote skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Communicate effectively with administration, athletes, parents, and community members to foster a supportive and engaged athletic environment.
  • Develop off-season workout plans to ensure year-round athlete conditioning and development.
  • Manage and oversee the program's budget, including fundraising efforts to support team needs.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate assistant and volunteer coaches, making recommendations for staffing as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all Aspen Ridge Preparatory School policies, CHSAA regulations, and sport-specific guidelines.
  • Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress, behavior, and overall well-being.
  • Administer first-aid procedures as needed and collaborate with athletic trainers regarding injury prevention and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, uniforms, and administrative duties related to team management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in coaching a specific sport.
  • A minimum of 5 years of assistant coaching experience; prior head coaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring,      and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive and disciplined team culture that aligns with the school's mission.
  • CPR, First Aid, and CHSAA-mandated certifications (including concussion protocol, mental health training, and sport-specific rules).
  • Completion of district-required training in child abuse prevention, health and safety protocols, and Title IX compliance.
  • Background check required.

Work Schedule:

  • Seasonal position, with practices, games, and team-related events scheduled during afternoons and evenings.
  • Hours vary by sport and competitive schedule.

Compensation:

  • Stipend-based, dependent on experience and sport assignment.
