Head Pressperson - Chattanooga Manufacturing
Shift: 1st shift (must have flexibility to float on nights if needed)
Summary:
The Offset Head Pressperson is responsible for operating and maintaining the Offset Press. This position will also be responsible for press print production and training others in the pre-press operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Responsible for the efficiency of the machine and timely completion of orders.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the presses mechanical and computer systems including data entry, as well as storage and retrieval of jobs.
  • Evaluate print production quality; bring any concerns to the attention of the appropriate supervisor.
  • Monitor the overall printing process.
  • Troubleshoot production issues that may arise.
  • Must maintain and keep press in top operational condition.
  • Responsible for the pressperson staff assigned to assist with the workload.
  • Responsible for training personnel on the press.
  • Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Overtime is required.
  • Must be flexible to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Minimum of 5 years Offset experience as a first or second pressperson or the equivalent is required.
  • The ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.
  • Normal vision is required; must be able to pass a colorblind test.

Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
