JOB TITLE: Press Operator

EMPLOYER: Portobello America

DEPARTMENT: Stamp / Press

LOCATION: Baxter, TN

EFFECTIVE DATE: April 21, 2023

Portobello America, part of the Portobello Group in Brazil, with a state-of-the-art

manufacturing facility in Baxter, TN, is looking for a Press Technician.

Major Functions & Scope

● Fill In and relief responsibilities for all press operations.

● Work closely with the Maintenance department and Vendor Technical Support.

● Performs Quality Checks and Line Inspections.

● Fills out Daily Production reports accurately and neatly.

● Assist in training press personnel.

● Monitors and Adjusts Press department Equipment.

● Conducts Inventory of Tooling (Moulds and Dies).

● Maintain equipment or processes and report problems to the Supervisor.

● Mechanical Aptitude and basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems including

but not limited to pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical.

● Compliance to Portobello Policies and Procedures.

● Follows Standard Operating Procedures for work performed.

● Keeps the work area safe, clean, and organized.

● Performs mechanical measurements and various tests on products to verify that all

products meet specification.

● Perform equipment setup and change-over.

● Operation of Automated manufacturing equipment for the purpose of starting,

stopping and adjusting production processes.

● Operate a forklift for the purpose of maintaining efficient departmental operation.

● Performs related tasks as necessary.

Experience

● Previous manufacturing/production experience.

Competencies


● Basic math skills, organization skills, detail oriented, and safety conscious.

● Accurate measuring and record keeping skills.


Physical Demands

● Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand, and finger dexterity.

● Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel and crawl.

● Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extremely hot or cold

weather.

● Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposure to

bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.

● While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is

usually moderate.

● Occasionally may lift and/or move more than 25 pounds and/or move up to 25

pounds.
