Head of Industry & Infrastructure Sales & Business Development

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Head of Siemens Electrification & Automation US’ Industry & Infrastructure segment, this role is responsible for leading the national Industrial Infrastructure Sales (IIS), the Industry & Infrastructure Business Development, and the Industry & Infrastructure Technical Account Manager teams mainly focusing on power infrastructure projects in the industrial market. You will be responsible for growing market share and profitability across the Industrial Smart Infrastructure portfolio ensuring maximum penetration of relevant Siemens products and platforms. This position will be located in the United States with the preferred location as Wendell, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead national sales, technical account management and industry business development teams focused predominantly on industrial end users and power infrastructure projects.
  • Drive accountability for quota achievement while optimizing sales strategies, team performance and account management practices with a focus on profitable top line and market share growth.
  • Ensure collaboration with the other Smart Infrastructure Sales and Vertical Market teams to improve account coverage and penetration in the respective industrial markets.
  • Provide market, competitor and customer feedback back to relevant team members.
  • Provide leadership and drive sales processes partnering with multiple BU Business Development organizations and other Siemens internal support teams.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a diverse and successful team of sales professionals with varying tenure and experience levels.

Your success is grounded in having these qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ sales leadership experience in power distribution project sales (LV and MV) and successful track record selling directly to Industrial end users, EPCs and General Contractors operating in the Industrial space. Business Unit/P&L experience a plus.
  • 2+ years of people leadership skills and proven experience growing and managing sales teams. Proven ability to lead through change, inspire, engage, develop and retain talent.
  • A bachelor's degree is required or equivalent years of work experience.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% is required for this role.
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level of customer centricity. Excellent background of establishing strong customer relationships all the way up to the C suite.
  • Strategic approach and demonstrated ability to shift team focus with market changes. Experience articulating business plans and investment asks to enable growth in new and emerging markets.
  • Proven competence and experience in account management and business development.
  • Experience working effectively in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, working with direct and matrixed resources to ensure customer satisfaction and profitable growth.
  • Proven track record of operating effectively in a multi-channel environment including direct sales, distribution, contractors, EPC’s and/or solution providers.
  • Candidates with strong product knowledge across our MV and Low Voltage portfolio preferred

The pay range for this position is $260,000-$300,000 with a sales incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
