Job description

We're hiring a Head of Psychological Operations to take command of the narrative and help us fix bureaucracy.

Level

Lead

Workplace

Remote

Compensation

120000 - 170000 USD

This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

We build workers for the work that keeps the country running.

At Statecraft, we are building an inorganic workforce to help keep the US Government running. Our AI workers are trained on government workflows, operate reliably and compliantly, and build their own tools and software to help achieve outcomes and digitally transform outdated processes.

America is not short on forms, policies, or good people. It is short on hours. Our public servants are overworked and understaffed. For too long, contractors and consultants have made empty promises to solve this problem. Instead, they've wasted billions in taxpayer dollars. We're changing this with an AI workforce that works around the clock and improves over time. On average, we save taxpayers 80% while helping agencies deliver on initiatives and their mission 10x faster.

We've raised a seed round, worked some pilots, and are aggressively pursuing major contracts that put us in direct competition with staffing behemoths like Accenture, Deloitte, and Booz Allen. Our product offering also brings agentic coding to the government, with our AI workers capable of building software in minutes at virtually no cost to drive out overcharging software integrators like Palantir, SAP, and Salesforce.

We're hiring a Head of PsyOps to help drive this work forward.

You read that right. We're pursuing ambitious goals and highly aggressive goals, and we think the role we're looking for is closer to a PsyOps than traditional marketing. We are fighting to transform civics itself, and we want someone who can build and wield influence campaigns. You will own how the market sees us. You will posture us against incumbents and primes who have embedded themselves deep within our bureaucracy. You will build the demand engine that fuels atmospheric growth at Statecraft and build eminence that buyers trust.

We are looking for someone who thinks outside the box and is willing to leave the traditional marketing playbook behind, mapping the right strategies for the government domain.

Responsibilities include:

  • Moving fast and being willing to test new strategies in minutes and hours, not days and weeks
  • Owning our positioning and messaging: what we say, who we say it to, and how we sound
  • Coordinating events for major stakeholders and decision makers at the highest levels of government
  • Mapping and maintaining a presence for Statecraft across events, conferences, and other premises
  • Producing high quality content including long-form writing, product videos, podcasts, and interviews
  • Running our social media, with creative content that gets real engagement, not just posting into the void
  • Building our demand engine: targets, campaigns, channels, and metrics to evidence growth
  • Building and maintaining funnels, both online and in-person, that drive the right buyers to StatecraftManaging outside vendors and agencies and holding them to a high bar

We are still incredibly early. The category is being defined in real time, the product ships fast, and the message that worked one week won't be right the next. You'll work in that ambiguity, make the call with incomplete information, and correct fast when the market tells you you're wrong.

Statecraft is fully AI-native. You'll have room to automate the marketing itself, building AI workers that draft content, run research, manage campaigns, and report on what's working so you spend your time on judgment, not production. Bring an idea for what should run itself, and you'll have the agents and budget to make it happen. You can command armies of marketers and achieve growth never before seen in this sector.

Of course, there are some requirements for this opportunity:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Experience with one of the above responsibilities in a growth, events or marketing role

A track record you can point to with names and numbers: campaigns you ran, pipeline you drove, content that landed

You can discern good content from bad, iconic from slop. You have taste.

Comfort owning both the strategy and the hands-on execution as the only marketer in the building

And these are some additional nice-to-haves:

  • You already use AI tools daily and have automated parts of your own workflow
  • Experience marketing technical or software products
  • Experience marketing to or selling into government, or running political campaigns
  • Located in the DMV or NYC
We want you to join us.

We can offer you a fantastic career opportunity:

$120-170k base salary + equity

Fully remote with travel for events

  • Amazing medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) matching
  • Unlimited PTO + 10 standard holidays + end-of-year holiday break
  • Touch Grass policy: must take at least 2 weeks of PTO every year!

You will love working here:

Fix the bureaucracy and automate the government

Work with exited founders and talent from Google, Palantir, AWS, and the Federal Government

Own the story of a company competing for 7-9 figure federal contracts

What you market actually works in production and makes a measurable impact

Work on the frontier of AI

And there are amazing perks:

  • Generous budget for your work from home setup
  • Monthly coworking stipend
  • Phone plan or internet bill is on us
  • Regular team offsites and plentiful opportunities to touch grass
  • Max tier AI subscriptions and enormous AI token budgets
