Role Overview

The Finance Business Partner reports to the Head of FP&A and supports the Finance team in expense planning, reporting, and optimization for Hiscox USA.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate annual business/expense planning and quarterly reforecast processes.
  • Assist with month‑end actuals reporting for senior management, including commentary to provide financial insight.
  • Lead certain monthly forecasting processes through business understanding and engagement with business leads.
  • Prepare presentations for leadership and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create detailed financial models to support strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and reconcile across various financial systems.
  • Support monthly expense analysis, including booking reserve entries and monitoring headcount to track spending versus budget and prior year.
  • Collaborate proactively with business leaders to track spending and identify expense risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in key management reporting such as the Quarterly Business Review.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field (Accounting or Finance preferred). MBA preferred but not required.

  • 6+ years of finance experience.
  • Experience in the P&C insurance industry preferred (not required).
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self‑directed, organized, and self‑motivated with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Experience building financial models.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
Computer Skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with general ledger software and financial data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems and Hyperion tools preferred.
