Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.

  1. Safety
    • Follow all Plant Safety Rules and Regulations
    • Utilize proper PPE at all times
    • Handle and dispose of hazardous material safely and per policy as outlined by all relevant regulations
  2. Quality
    • Responsible to produce continuous quality parts and ensure all quality procedures are followed
    • Compliance to ISO 9001
    • Complete Manufacturing/Quality documents
    • Communicate with internally concerning deviations or general request
    • Assist in 6s and lean manufacturing practices
  3. Environmental
    • Verify compliance to local, state, and federal regulations
    • Complete reports as necessary internally/externally
  4. Primary Production Responsibilities
    • Independently operate machines, equipment, and produce production parts to required tolerances
    • Read and comprehend customer specification sheets; anticipate the next order and stage supplies/products as needed
    • Utilize Company systems for reporting production, scrap, inventory, etc.
    • Press drum head and bottoms to scheduled requirements and to meet customer specifications
    • Check press set up after changeover to gauges
    • Check pre-curl roll, adjust, and replace as needed
    • Changeover head press as required
    • Move parts to and from press as required
    • Check off completed orders on daily schedule sheet
    • Stack/prepare parts as needed
    • Select, pick-up, and move boxes of flanges to work station
    • Assist and operate presses in press poll as needed
    • Follow direction and product required quantities
    • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with other operators, maintenance, and management

OTHER DUTIES 

  • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
    • Carry out minor maintenance overhauls and parts changes; including designated preventative maintenance
    • Track issues with downtime and/or equipment
    • Attend all required meetings and trainings 
    • Perform all other duties as required or requested

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

  • High School Diploma or GED
    • Prior experience in industrial manufacturing
    • Hazardous Material Handling

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Forklift License

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS

  • Offer highest level of innovation and problem solving skills to influence overall efficiency, improvements in productivity, outcomes, etc.

VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS 

  • Use verbal skills to transfer information to operators, maintenance, and management

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS 

  • Complete reports such as production, quality, and inventory legibly

MATH SKILLS

  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios

COMPUTER SKILLS 

  • Internal manufacturing systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, kneel/stoop, and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Requires good hand/eye/foot coordination
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud environments, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
  • Vision: 20/20 corrected; and normal hearing range
  • Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment - cold in winter months and hot in the summer months
