Position Type: Hourly
Salary Range: $23.65-$27.74 Hourly. Wages are based on education. Candidates with one year of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field or two years of experience and Associate's degree in a related field qualify. Description: Collaborate with the Early Childhood Service Coordinator, Teachers, Family Advocate, and families, to plan and implement the Head Start educational program for preschool children to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. With a related Associate's Degree or higher and one or two years of experience, you can lead your teachers in a Head Start classroom, preparing children for kindergarten and collaborating with the team of dedicated professionals who work with you and the families to surmount all obstacles to successful education and stability.   • Supervise Teachers with daily operations in the center classroom to plan and prepare the learning environment and gathering necessary materials, the daily routine, small and large group times, outdoor time, and mealtime activities.
  • Ensure the safety of all children by assuring proper supervision of the children at all times and a safe, healthy, sanitary, and organized learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Teachers in developing and implementing activities and experiences that promote the children's interests, individualization and skill building in all developmental domains.
  • Ensure every teacher has an opportunity to grow and learn through assigned trainings and strategic interactions with families and children.
  • Assist in completion of developmental screenings of all children.
  • Support the efforts of the center team in planning and implementing family engagement and male involvement activities throughout the program year.
  • Complete home visits, plans and parent/teacher conferences to ensure intentional learning strategies are assimilated by the first and best teachers of children, their family members.
  • Master all relevant regulatory requirements to ensure the facility is safe, nurturing, and maintains the highest rating possible.

  1. Education, Training & Work Experience Required: ECE Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or Bachelor's degree + 6 ECE courses and one year experience; or Associate's degree in ECE and two years' experience.
  2. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, reach, bend, move easily and work on the floor with small children. A valid driver's license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Able to travel assigned service area. Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.
