Job description

Seeking an Engineer for a diverse and growing custom stainless and mill-work fabricating facility. Must be a fan of continuous improvement, have good people skills, sense of humor, and a great work ethic. You'll get to see your designs actually get built by some of the finest craftspeople using state-of-the-art equipment.

You will have clear expectations and real-time monitoring and feedback on your progress, as well as training on our systems and procedures.

The Design Engineer is responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. The engineer performs engineering design evaluations and may develop a range of products. The engineer recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks. Familiar with ISO quality management and lean manufacturing processes. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to include maximizing utilization of the shop computer systems and awareness of the latest in computer technologies to keep the company on the leading edge in the industry.

MUST BE FLUENT IN 3D PARAMETRIC MODELING (We use AutoDesk Inventor).

Essential Job Functions

1. Parametric modeling from architectural prints using Autodesk Inventor, working with teams and established systems to produce manufacturing information for a diverse range of fabrications, and see the project through from beginning to end.

2. Responsible to produce drawings and models to meet customer specifications as evidenced by the drawing.

3. Responsible to produce CAD files ready for programming and production by our CNC equipment.

4. Use 3D library models and software to create complete release packages for production.

5. Revises and resubmits drawings/prints to customer after approval of department head as evidenced by the approval signature on the revised plan.

6. Responsible to inspect all products completed by the production staff to ensure that the completed product is accurate to the drawings and high quality is maintained as evidenced by the inspection notes and photos.

7. Responsible to keep working areas organized to ensure that all drawings in process could be located and retrieved by the engineering department as evidenced by supervisor's observation.

8. Researches all buyout equipment for orders and retrieves accurate information to ensure that all in house components and vendor parts work well to achieve the customer's goals as evidenced by the research provided.

9. Responsible to record that those outside components for a specific job have been received into the shop and label the item with the appropriate job number as evidenced by the label on the ship to shop item.

10. Responsible to produce a purchase order request for items that need to be ordered to complete the job without time delays as evidenced by the signed and dated purchase order.

11. Other duties as required.

Compensation:

This is a full time hourly position. Pay rate is based on skills and experience, but the minimum starting wage is $23.00 per hour. Health, Dental and vision insurance is available and partially paid by the employer. Vacation, Holiday and 401k after required waiting period.
