Job description

Exeter Hospital, a growing community-based level 3 trauma center in scenic Exeter, New Hampshire, is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist. This role offers a unique blend of autonomy and team collaboration within a collegial environment. The position provides an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking a balanced lifestyle, with convenient access to Boston and Portland, outdoor activities, and notable schools.

Practice Info

  • Community-based practice with a small-town feel and collegial working environment
  • Medically directed site with a good amount of autonomy
  • Anesthesiologists work in a care-team model
  • Mix of solo cases and supervising cases
  • No head/hearts or chronic pain cases

Responsibilities

  • Handle case assignments including General surgery, ortho, endo, ENT, GYN, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, plastics, healthy peds, dental
  • Perform Epidurals, Blocks/Lines frequently
  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitor the patient's physiological condition
  • Perform clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Additional pay for additional call (not beeper call)

Shift & Schedule

  • 4-day work week
  • Call is 1 in 7 weekends
  • Monday-Thursday night float system

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
