Head Accountant – CPA Marlton, NJ 08053 Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 base + annual bonus eligibility

Our portfolio includes 10+ branded and independent hotels throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and Maryland. From our corporate headquarters, we provide centralized accounting, operations, and asset management support to all properties. Position Overview We are seeking a CPA to lead accounting and financial reporting for our 10+ property portfolio. You’ll own the general ledger, period close, and financial reporting package presented directly to ownership. This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll manage 1-2 staff accountants while ensuring GAAP compliance, clean audits, and actionable financial insights that drive asset value.


Key Responsibilities Financial Close & Reporting Lead monthly/period close for all properties, ensuring books close by the 8th business day Prepare consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and variance analysis in USALI format.


Build and present monthly ownership reporting packages, including KPI dashboards, flowthrough, and capital tracking.


Own year-end close, tax package prep, and coordination with external CPA firm GAAP & Compliance Ensure all financials comply with GAAP and USALI – 11th Revised Edition


Maintain internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit schedules Oversee sales/occupancy/tourism tax filings for multiple NJ/PA/DE jurisdictions


Manage bank covenants, debt schedules, and lender reporting.


Team & Operations Leadership


Supervise and develop 1-2 staff accountants; review AP, AR, payroll, and daily revenue entries.


Partner with property GMs on budgeting, forecasting, and expense control..


Lead annual budget process and quarterly re-forecasts across the portfolio Systems & Analytics.


Administrator for hotel accounting software: M3, Aptech, ProfitSword, or similar Helpful: Experience with Hotel Investor Apps, ProfitSage, or other hotel benchmarking/BI tools Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization across properties Support acquisitions/dispositions, new hotel openings, and CAPEX accounting.


Qualifications Active CPA license; 5+ years accounting experience with 2+ years in hospitality or multientity environment Expert knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and consolidated financials Advanced Excel – pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling Prior hotel experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG; USALI expertise Hotel Investor Apps, M3 Accounting, ProfitSword, or similar platform experience Strong communicator who can explain financials to non-finance owners. Detail-obsessed but big-picture focused.
