Job description

We are seeking a Full Time Night House Supervisor (RN Required) in our In-Patient Care Department. This position will also assist throughout the hospital based on need.

The schedule for this position includes (4) four, 10-hour shifts per week from 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM (nights will vary) and every 6th weekend.

Full-time benefits include: IPERS, Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. PTO and sick time accrual begin on the first day of employment.

Position Summary:

The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across all departments. This role provides leadership, clinical support, and administrative coordination, with direct responsibility for Hospital Care Medical Center (HCMC) operations while on duty. The House Supervisor will also support Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and provide Emergency Department (ED) coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

· Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

· Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred

· Strong knowledge of hospital operations, regulatory requirements, and patient care standards

· Required certifications BLS, ACLS, ENPC, PALS, and TNCC


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

· Maintain overall responsibility for hospital operations during assigned shifts

· Serve as the administrative representative for HCMC in the absence of leadership

· Coordinate staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure safe and efficient care delivery

· Address and resolve operational issues, patient concerns, and staff needs in real time

Leadership and Staff Support

· Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and ancillary staff

· Promote a positive work environment and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures

· Assist with staffing adjustments, including reassignments and on-call coordination

Clinical Support

· Respond to clinical emergencies and assist with patient care as needed

· Round on all departments of the hospital

· Ensure quality and safety standards are upheld across all departments

· Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements

· Obtain medications from the pharmacy in the absence of a pharmacist

· Assist in other areas of the hospital during high census or staffing shortages to ensure continuity of care

Communication and Coordination

· Serve as a key communication link between departments, providers, and leadership

· Collaborate with physicians, department managers, and external partners to ensure continuity of care

· Document and report significant events, incidents, and operational concerns

Additional Duties

· Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives

· Ensure compliance with patient safety standards and risk management practices

· Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

· Hospital setting with frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting

· Must be available to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

· Requires rapid decision-making in high-pressure situations
