Unit: Acute Care Unit

Weekly Working Hours: 36 hours/week; Full Time Benefitted

Shift: Night Shift; 7p – 7:30a; Weekend Work Required

Job Description & Qualifications:

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center (HCMC) is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Since its founding in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a comprehensive acute care medical center with 226 licensed beds. We specialize in women's and children's services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services and community health education.

The Patient Care Technician Intern (PCT Intern) works under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care. This role includes performing routine patient care activities and delegated clinical procedures, documenting and communicating patient information, and using specialized equipment to support a safe, high-quality care environment. The PCT Intern develops foundational clinical skills while gaining valuable experience caring for patients in a collaborative healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network

Salary Range: Minimum 18.00/hour - Maximum 18.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
