Job Summary and Qualifications

The Labor & Delivery Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role:

  • Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, while ensuring adherence to standards of care.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiples tasks and projects in a productive manner.
  • Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification requirements.
  • Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives as listed in the Performance Management Plan.
  • Establish orientation and annual competency criteria for staff and ensure successful completion.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify strategic management initiatives.
  • Respond to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues in a timely manner.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or compact state required.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Acute care/hospital nursing leadership experience required.
  • Current Fetal Monitoring certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
