Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, adjust, and operate manual machining equipment (engine lathes (25" to 40"), turrent lathes, milling machines, drills and tool grinders) to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.
This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in precision work, values safety and quality, and thrives in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
  • Measure and verify parts using precision instruments to maintain tight tolerances
  • Inspect finished components for quality and document results or identify defects
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Communicate any safety concerns, equipment issues, or production challenges to supervision
  • Support team goals and production needs by completing additional tasks as required

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience operating manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred:
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10-hour shifts)
  • Frequent walking and movement throughout the workday
