Position Overview

The Sales Lead for the Texas Territory is responsible for driving business growth, expanding customer relationships, and representing Hayes Manufacturing’s full range of industrial fabrication, machining, and turnkey project solutions. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, managing key accounts, and supporting project development across industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, construction, and industrial services.

The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated sales professional with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trust with customers in industrial environments.

Essential Job Responsibiities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the Texas Territory
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across industrial sectors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business
  • Conduct on-site customer visits to understand project needs, gather specifications, and provide solutions
  • Promote Hayes Manufacturing’s capabilities, including fabrication, welding, machining, coatings, and turnkey project services
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes, and presentations
  • Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, engineering, production, and project management) to ensure accurate project scope and successful delivery
  • Track sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends
  • Represent Hayes Manufacturing at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
  • Provide regular territory updates, forecasts, and performance reports to leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or B2B technical sales
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, or industrial services (or willingness to learn)
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and manage long-term customer relationships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read or interpret basic drawings, specs, or technical information
  • Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Texas region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial construction, or manufacturing sectors
  • Existing customer network within Texas industrial markets
  • Background in fabrication, machining, welding, or engineering environments

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during customer visits and travel
  • Frequent driving across the Texas Territory, sometimes for several hours at a time
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of product samples, literature, or demonstration materials (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to navigate industrial facilities, including climbing stairs, walking on uneven surfaces, or wearing required PPE
  • Clear verbal communication for presentations, meetings, and customer interactions
  • Visual acuity for reviewing drawings, proposals, and digital documents

Work Environment

  • Field-based role with regular travel to customer sites, fabrication shops, plants, and industrial facilities
  • Occasional work at Hayes Manufacturing headquarters for meetings or training
  • Exposure to industrial environments including noise, heat, and active work zones during site visits
