Role Overview

We have an opportunity for a highly impactful, tenacious and proactive Talent Acquisition Business Partner– Americas to drive hiring across our corporate services, middle and back-office functions in the Americas, reporting to the global head of talent acquisition. This is a pivotal, highly commercial role in a fast growing, global commodities trading firm, where you will partner with a diverse array of senior stakeholders to lead end to end hiring, build talent ready pipelines in niche and critical areas, to shape the hiring strategy across the Americas, closely aligned to the overall global talent acquisition strategy and process.

Functional scope: Risk, Middle Office, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Tax, Legal and Compliance (not front office/trading)

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with leadership to shape hiring strategies, providing insight on talent markets, competitor activity, and hiring trends.
  • Manage the full life cycle of recruitment and search processes within your scope, from approval to recruit through to verbal offer acceptance.
  • Deliver a high-quality, efficient hiring process focused on direct sourcing and exceptional stakeholder experience.
  • Create compelling and attractive job adverts and advertising on all the key platforms available.
  • Resume and candidate screening, providing consistent, clear pitches of our business and the role, assessing candidates against the role, and the hiring manager criteria, through to shortlisting for hiring manager assessment.
  • Providing detailed constructive interview feedback, managing and negotiating offers.
  • Business partnering with and advising a diverse range of multi-disciplinary hiring managers and HR colleagues across our global business.
  • Research, build and maintain talent pipelines in key skills shortage areas, as guided by the global head of talent acquisition, to support future hiring needs and where external succession planning is needed, in line with the business strategy.
  • Partnering and engaging with carefully selected third party recruitment vendors, where appropriate and approved by the global head of talent acquisition.
  • Contribute to the implementation and improvement of recruitment processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Talent acquisition project involvement and contribution across EDI, systems enhancements/implementations and employer brand building and as guided by the global head of talent acquisition.


Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience (ideally +8 years) in talent acquisition across in-house and/or search environments.
  • Strong network within commodities trading (energy preferred) or trading-led financial services (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated success in direct sourcing for niche or hard-to-fill roles and building talent ready pipelines for critical future hiring.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including influencing senior hiring managers .
  • Passion for talent acquisition and a commitment to deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Good understanding of recruitment best practice across the whole recruitment process, including experience of critical candidate assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with hiring managers, HR business partners and candidates.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with capacity to manage and prioritize multiple priorities, deadlines, and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail especially with written communication.
  • Resilience and tenacity, target driven with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think innovatively to overcome recruitment challenges.
  • Willing and able to travel to New York head office when required.
