They work on creating hardware components such as circuit boards, processors, and other electronic parts, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and safety standards. These engineers often collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, industrial designers, and manufacturing specialists to bring products from concept to market. Their role may also involve troubleshooting hardware issues and improving existing products.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a hardware product engineer?

To thrive as a Hardware Product Engineer, you need a solid background in electrical or computer engineering, circuit design, and product development, usually backed by a relevant engineering degree. We specialize in the design, development, and distribution of innovative products that enhance the performance and enjoyment of golfers worldwide. We aspire to be more than another golf technology brand. We champion the game's progression and motivate golfers to Play Different®. Job Summary

Lead Blue Tees’ hardware product organization end-to-end. You own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our core hardware lines (rangefinders, GPS, speakers, launch monitors, innovations, and accessories) while also driving the development of net-new hardware categories. You champion and maintain the New Product Development (NPD) process, and you ensure every product not only hits its hardware margin targets but also strengthens the Blue Tees ecosystem by driving App downloads and subscription (SaaS) revenue. You manage and grow the hardware Product and Program Management team and partner closely with software, design, and ODM vendors to ship market-leading products on time, on cost, and on quality.

This role is both a builder and a leader:

• Own the present: unify and execute the existing hardware roadmap

• Build the future: identify and validate the next generation of hardware bets

• Lead the team: develop a high-performing product organization

Responsibilities

Hardware Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the multi-year hardware roadmap across rangefinders, GPS devices, speakers, launch monitors, innovations, and adjacent accessories.
  • Define product strategy that supports both hardware growth and the continued expansion of the Blue Tees app ecosystem and subscription business.
  • Prioritize investments across existing product lines and new product opportunities, balancing customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and long-term strategic growth.
  • Lead build, buy, and partner decisions for future hardware initiatives.
  • Ensure seamless integration between hardware products and the Blue Tees software ecosystem.

New Product Development (0→1)

  • Identify, validate, and develop new hardware products and product categories.
  • Evaluate new opportunities based on hardware economics, customer demand, and downstream subscription revenue potential.
  • Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and commercial assessments to guide investment decisions.
  • Translate opportunities into product requirements, prototypes, and validated concepts alongside Engineering and Design.

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Hardware Product Management organization.
  • Coach and mentor Product Managers while establishing clear goals, accountability, and career development.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance product culture focused on ownership, innovation, and execution.
  • Allocate people and resources across the product portfolio to maximize execution and business impact.

Execution, Vendor & Program Leadership

  • Champion and continuously improve the New Product Development (NPD) process across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver products on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
  • Own product-side relationships with ODM partners, contract manufacturers, and key external vendors.
  • Manage the complete hardware product lifecycle from concept through end-of-life.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align Engineering, Design, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and executive leadership around product priorities and roadmap execution.
  • Present product strategy, business cases, roadmap updates, and launch readiness to executive leadership.
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making to drive alignment, accountability, and execution across the organization.

Qualifications / Requirements

Required

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including 3+ years leading Product Management teams.
  • Deep experience developing and launching consumer electronics or other hardware products.
  • Proven ownership of products throughout the full lifecycle, from concept through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and hardware program management.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including market sizing, business case development, unit economics, pricing, and margin analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance execution of existing product lines with 0→1 product innovation.
  • Proven ability to build, coach, and lead high-performing product teams.
  • Strong executive presence with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with connected devices, IoT products, or companion mobile applications.
  • Experience integrating hardware products with software platforms or subscription-based services.
  • Experience leading product organizations through rapid growth or organizational transformation.
  • Familiarity with the golf industry or adjacent consumer technology markets.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Management, Business, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, connected devices, IoT, or other hardware-focused industries strongly preferred.

Benefits
