The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What you'll do:
Eaton's Embedded Electronics & PCB Design CoE is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to drive the design and development of embedded electronics for low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers and advanced switching solutions. Reporting to the Embedded Electronics CoE Engineering Manager, you will be part of our Advanced Technology team, leading the development, and validation of embedded electronic platforms that power next-generation protection systems.
As a Lead Hardware Engineer, you will:
• Responsible to execute full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification for electronics-based products
• Design hardware including:
- Driver circuits
- Protection & sensing circuits
- Communication interfaces
- Human-machine interfaces
• Translate product requirements into robust technical specifications in collaboration with marketing and applications teams
• Execute hardware design, validation, and qualification testing
• Partner with controls teams to develop and validate fault management algorithms using HIL platforms
• Own detailed development planning, requirements traceability, and issue tracking
• Conduct and participate in formal design and quality reviews
• Collaborate with Corporate R&D, Electrical & Industrial Sector CoEs, and external innovation partners
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design and systems

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in solid-state or hybrid circuit breaker control systems
-Proficiency layout tools: Altium, Alegro (Cadence)
-Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee/Matter)
-Familiarity with project tracking tools (Jira, JAMA)
-Experience transitioning designs into production environments
Skills:
• Proven ability to lead through influence, build technical competency across teams, and drive product development for commercial viability.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary development teams
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills covering multiple areas of engineering (electrical design, test, simulation, industrialization)
