Flight Simulator Hardware Engineer - Air & Commercial Solutions (ACS) Program
Location: Orlando, FL, 32825 - United States

As a Flight Simulator Hardware Engineer, you will shape the future of flight training systems, lead integration efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Lead hardware design and development for power, control systems, motion platforms, display systems, avionics interfaces, and related equipment
- Integrate simulator hardware with existing building infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, grounding, fire, and smoke monitoring systems
- Direct and mentor hardware engineering teams to synchronize engineering, procurement, production, manufacturing, and supplier activities
- Resolve complex technical challenges with innovative solutions aligned with program goals
- Generate CREO layouts and detailed drawings for components, assemblies, and test articles
- Develop hardware architectural layouts for systems and subsystems; derive requirements from customer inputs
- Manage BOM creation, parts/assembly documentation, and support technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Apply hardware engineering processes within an Agile development framework
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related field
- Extensive experience (15+ years) developing flight simulation hardware solutions
- Proficient in mechanical design engineering principles and industry standards
- Hands-on experience using CREO for creating detailed designs and layouts
- Skilled in requirements derivation, BOM management, and technical documentation
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through major technical reviews
- Demonstrated application of hardware engineering in Agile environments
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with Windchill, Catia, Zuken, Cameo
- Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning/tolerancing and system-level tolerance analysis
- Experience with modular open systems architectures (SOA)
- Background in full motion simulators, flight training systems, rotary/fixed-wing aircraft
- Facility systems integration (HVAC, fire detection/suppression)
- Experience adapting hardware designs to climate control and facility requirements
