Job description

WORKING FOREPERSON – CONCRETE, MASONRY & SITEWORK

Forcine Wall & Patio, Inc. is seeking an experienced Working Foreperson to lead field crews on commercial and residential concrete, masonry, sitework and hardscape projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.

This is a hands-on position. The Working Foreperson is expected to work alongside the crew while directing daily operations, maintaining production, enforcing safety requirements and ensuring quality workmanship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct daily crew assignments and work activities.
  • Work alongside the crew performing concrete, masonry, excavation, grading, drainage, retaining-wall and hardscape construction.
  • Review plans, details, dimensions, grades and project requirements.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment and deliveries.
  • Verify layout, elevations, slopes, formwork, reinforcement and base preparation.
  • Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing and saw cutting.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized jobsite.
  • Complete daily reports, photographs, employee time and production records.
  • Identify plan discrepancies, changed conditions and potential extra work.
  • Communicate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, suppliers and other trades.
  • Protect completed work, neighboring property, utilities and landscaping.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five years of concrete, masonry, sitework or hardscape construction experience.
  • Previous foreperson or crew-lead experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of concrete construction, formwork, reinforcing, excavation, grading and masonry or hardscape installation.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, details and specifications.
  • Ability to establish and verify lines, grades, elevations and slopes.
  • Ability to lead employees while remaining productive in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for plans, photographs, timekeeping and daily reports.
  • OSHA training, equipment-operating experience, CDL and related certifications are preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, travel over uneven terrain, bend, kneel, climb and perform physical construction work throughout the day. The position requires regularly lifting up to 50 pounds, with team lifting or mechanical assistance used for heavier materials.
