Job description

Join a well-established precision machine shop with over 50 years of manufacturing experience serving Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Semiconductor customers. The shop is entering an exciting growth phase as part of a larger manufacturing organization focused on strengthening American manufacturing through investment in people, technology, and long-term career development while preserving the craftsmanship and hands-on culture that make great machine shops successful.

We're seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist who can independently take a job from setup through production with minimal supervision.

Compensation:

  • $30-$40/hr based on experience
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
  • Unlimited overtime available
  • Double-time pay on Sundays
  • Weekly pay

What You'll Do:

  • Set up and operate 2-axis and 3-axis CNC horizontal lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation
  • Work with Fanuc controls and G-code programs
  • Select tooling, establish work and tool offsets, and prepare machines for production
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
  • Hold extremely tight tolerances
  • Machine primarily stainless steel and aluminum components
  • Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other manual precision measuring instruments
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently
  • Make machine-side program adjustments and offset corrections as needed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of CNC lathe setup experience
  • Ability to independently set up and run 2-axis and 3-axis CNC horizontal lathes
  • Experience with Fanuc controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Familiarity with G-code and machine-side program edits
  • Experience performing first-piece inspections and production verification
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement and inspection techniques
  • Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other manual inspection tools
  • Experience with Hardinge, Doosan, Swiss-style, or similar CNC lathes preferred
  • Aerospace, Defense, Medical, or high-precision machining experience preferred
